AMAZONIA is Volume III of SYMFAUNIA® — a 120GB Kontakt instrument built from the living sound of the Amazon rainforest and transformed into expressive, playable and cinematic musical material.
Jaguars, howler monkeys, macaws, toucans, frogs, snakes, insects and tropical birdlife become expressive leads, pulses, drones, organic percussion, transitions and evolving textures. Play the rainforest like a living instrument, shaping calls, songs, croaks, buzzes, wingbeats, breath and movement with non-vibrato, vibrato, flutter, short (staccato), trills, runs, falls, rises, SFX and mordents — turning the restless language of the canopy into melody, rhythm, motion and performance.
Move from a distant howler call to a haunting melodic phrase, from insect flight to intricate rhythmic detail, or from amphibian voices and wing movement to evolving cinematic tension. Each articulation gives you another way to perform the rainforest rather than simply trigger a recording, while preserving the density, color and unmistakable living character of the original source.
Rooted in the dense sonic ecosystem of the Amazon rainforest, AMAZONIA turns animal presence into composition. Its sources include jaguars, howler monkeys, macaws, toucans, frogs, snakes, insects and tropical birdlife — captured not as decorative ambience, but as raw material that can be performed, layered, stretched and reshaped.
The identity of each source remains perceptible. A call can become a melodic gesture. Wing movement can become pulse. Insect flight can become rhythmic texture. Amphibian voices can generate tension. Breath and movement can expand into cinematic depth, atmosphere, motion or tonal character.
Calls, songs, croaks, buzzes, wing movement, breath and organic gestures are shaped into an expressive performance language. Move between non-vibrato and vibrato, introduce flutter or precise short (staccato) attacks, build fluid motion with trills and runs, or create expressive transitions with falls, rises, mordents and SFX. Each articulation lets you phrase the rainforest with intention — from delicate, close-detail gestures to wide cinematic movement.
Keep the recognizable identity of the source when you want organic realism, or push it into new territory through pitching, layering, automation and sound design. The result is more than a library of rainforest recordings: it is a responsive palette built around layering, expression and musical interaction — sounds that can emerge, hover, swarm, stalk, pulse, recede and suddenly break through the mix.
Every layer of the ecosystem brings a different sonic identity. Jaguars contribute weight, stealth and predatory tension; howler monkeys bring distance, body and territorial resonance; macaws and toucans introduce color, air and expressive calls; frogs add pulse and amphibian texture; snakes suggest close, controlled movement; while insects and tropical birdlife create the fine-grained activity that makes the rainforest feel continuously alive.
Around that wildlife core, the art direction carries a restrained Aztec- and Maya-inspired sense of jade, carved stone, geometric rhythm and monumental calm — used only as a subtle marketing accent, never as a claim about the origin of the recordings, and never taking focus away from Amazonian wildlife itself.
AMAZONIA is built to move between wonder and danger, intimacy and immensity, stillness and sudden motion. Its palette can suggest a hidden predator beneath the canopy, distant calls crossing humid air, a dense nocturnal chorus, microscopic movement under leaves or a burst of wings breaking through the green.
Use that contrast as a compositional tool — from barely perceptible organic detail to the defining identity of a cue. The sounds can sit inside the environment or rise forward as a completely transformed musical voice.
